Community Bathing Program

One of the Adult Day Programs at Nanaimo Travellers Lodge (NTL), the Community Bathing program provides hygiene services to people in the community who are unable to bathe or have great difficulty bathing at home.

Services include:

• Bath
• Monitoring of weight
• Hair washing
• Basic nail care
• Minor dressing changes
• Hairdressing services (with advance notice)

Due to equipment limitations, the Community Bathing program does not have the ability to service individuals who cannot bend or sit, cannot move by themselves or have a body size larger than can be accommodated with our lifts.

Community Bathing runs Monday to Friday by appointment. Each appointment is one hour in length and participants are committed to attend weekly.

What to Bring - A change of clothes, special lotions or shampoo, wound dressings or treatment, and other personal products

How to Apply - Applications for this program are made through the Vancouver Island Health Authority;

Transportation - Transportation to NTL is provided by the family and can also be arranged through RDN Handy Dart at 250-390-3000
